Tariffs, Thread & Tough Choices: What’s Changing at Felti’s
Share
Due to the current tariff situation that is affecting artists and small businesses alike, you may see fewer drops of Acrylic Charms, and Lanyard products as these products are made with reputable manufacturers over seas. While the chance of using a local/ US-based manufacturer is available with some limitations, it is not viable for us to use these due to the higher costs and lower quality of the items being produced.
For our handmade goods like Plushies, Plush Keychains, Tote Bags, and Accessories these will experience a Price bump to reflect the new price increase of material costs. While I, Felti make / produce these items from my home in Puerto Rico (a US territory & part of the US) the materials I use to create them come from overseas and gets distributed by local shops where I purchase from.
Ontop of this, certain materials are becoming slightly harder to find & more expensive to purchase due to a certain big brand hobby store closing their doors at the end of this month. Unfortunately, I am majorly impacted by this closure of said store as I would rely heavily on their discounted pricing & availability to purchase large bolts of fabric to ensure I get the best pricing. These bolts I would specifically purchase are hard to find locally in my island, and am currently looking for alternative stores to purchase from (whether it's locally or online) and making sure to get them at a decent price.
As for our shipping, we previously halted all shipments to the EU due to the GPSR changes made, and this will remain as is until then. In the near future, we may increase our shipping costs for Lettermail, which is exclusive for our flat stationery like sticker sheets & bookmarks. In addition to this, I will be increasing free shipping from orders $50+ to orders $75+, due to a price bump that will happen soonish!.
With this being said, you will most likely see more stationery, fabric, and plush items from us at Felti's Creations while this tariff situation is in place. I have a wide selection of fabric that I hope to slowly tackle and have been trying to do more art nowadays, so it seems fitting to focus on these for the time being!
The price increase will take effect in our future Shop Update, which will be between May & June!
Thank you always for taking the time to support us during these trial times. I know it is not easy for everyone, but rest assured that I believe we will all push through and see the light in the end of the tunnel!
